Jun 13, 2011 1st Anniversary of Bill 168
June 15 marks the first anniversary of Bill 168 - the amendment to the Occupational Health and Safety Act concerning Violence and Harassment in the Workplace.
Is your business in compliance yet? If you have 1 or more employees, and are not federally regulated, this legislation applies to you.
Bill 168 set out several requirements of employers regarding the development of workplace violence and harassment programs that include:
- assessing the risk of violence
- developing policies to address violence and harassment
- developing violence prevention and control programs that support the policies
- providing training to employees
- reporting and investigation procedures
If you have not yet developed and implemented your workplace violence and harassment programs as required under Bill 168, I can help you.
If you have implemented Bill 168, don't forget that there is a requirement for, at minimum, an annual review.
I would be delighted to assist your organization and look forward to hearing from you.
